It’s always nice to be able to dust off the camera and practice what I actually studied once in a while. I spent last weekend with my friend Camilla, who is re-vamping the brand direction of her independent Scandi-Asian collection of made-to-order fine jewelry.
The brand’s name, NiLuh comes from Bali - where it is a tradition that the first-born female is named NiLuh. With Camilla’s love for Bali and since she was the first born female in her family, the name for her collection seemed the perfect fit.
NiLuh signature bracelets are handmade from high-quality materials including exclusive Japanese beadings, 925-silver and 18-carat gold plating and the colors are carefully selected to reflect Scandinavian seasonal trends.
Camilla was born in Copenhagen and has a fashion design degree from Milan. She has since lived in New York, Shanghai and Hong Kong and uses the vibrant feats of each city as inspiration for her collections, whilst always maintaining an element of Nordic simplicity in her design aesthetic.
